Attention fans of good food and fun. On Thursday, May 22 the Barker High School class of 2011 is holding a chicken barbecue and Chinese auction in the parking lot! The take-out only dinner is being cooked by the Barker Lions (the best bbq chicken anywhere) and will be available from 4 p.m. until sell-out. Get a pre-sale ticket from any freshman so you don’t miss out. The cost is $7.50 per dinner. The South parking lot is the one off Quaker Road.
There will also be a baked goods sale so you can pick up dessert and a snack at the same time! Take the day off from the kitchen; you deserve it.
Chinese Auction alert! Yes, fans… there will be an auction of baskets, certificates and such! Tickets are $5 per sheet of 25. The drawing starts at 6:30 p.m. and you do not have to be present to win. You can grab dinner, drop your tickets and go home to enjoy a great meal and wait for that winning phone call! True auction fans will return for the draw itself, if only to groan “I missed it by just one number!” It’s the thrill of the auction for most, but they love it!
