While talent scouts are usually looking for the young, hip and gorgeous there are not as many opportunities for the old, hippy and gaseous! Well, the folks at the Palace Theatre need some funny old timers. Here’s the press release they sent, with my favorite line in red! The folks at the Palace are wonderful and their productions are first rate! You just might be the funny old coot they’re looking for! Give it a try… what have you got to lose?
Curtain Up Productions and Lake Plains Players are holding auditions for NOISES OFF (“the funniest play every written!”) Mon. June 16th & Tues. June 17th from 7:30-9 at the Palace Theater in Lockport. Nothing has to be prepared for the audition. Director Brendan Stacey will have you read from the script and also do some sort of improvisation that he will provide for you (think “Who’s Line is it Anyway?”). He is in need of 5 adult males and 4 adult females (from young 20’s through very mature…). The majority of roles are for the slightly and exceedingly more mature amongst us.
Show dates are Sept 5, 6, 12, 13, 14. The read-through will take place on Mon. June 30th, and rehearsals will begin that week. There are probably not going to be rehearsals on the following dates so, if you haven’t already, you can plan your summer vacations accordingly: July 4th-11th, July 20th-27th, August 23rd-Sept. 1st.
Rehearsals will be held in Lockport, approximately 3 days per week. If gas prices cause folks to want to rehearse for longer stints, but less often, that can be decided once the cast is chosen. If you have any other questions, please call Christopher Parada at 438-1130.
