Sing out loud at Barker Village Park!

You can’t live in this corner of the county and not know “Aunt Bea.” Young-at-heart DJ Bea Buczkowski spins music for all sorts of community gatherings and will be in the Barker Village Park gazebo on Thursday, July 3rd during the Farmer’s Market. Those who have attended past veteran’s dinners in Barker know she has a great collection of patriotic music, from sing-along songs like “God Bless America” to rousing Sousa marches!

Why not bring the kids down for a little festive kick-off to the Fourth of July? You know you secretly love to belt out the lyrics to “You’re a Grand Old Flag!” Stop and relax on your way to Thursday’s Olcott fireworks if you’re headed there. Bring your lawn chairs, grab a sno-cone or cotton candy or a meal deal at PWT (three bucks for a hot dog, chips and drink, or pizza slice and drink). Grab some berries, cherries or fresh sweet corn and sample all the goodies our market has to offer. From fresh bread from Mennonite  bakers to homemade pies and goat milk soap, you never know what you’ll find at the market but you’ll always find friendly folks in the shady park.

Market hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. each Thursday. Have kids playing in the Lighthouse Optimist Soccer League? We started the market earlier this year so you could stop by on the way to soccer at BCS. The market is a meeting place for friends and neighbors, so come on down and visit us. You’ll find me putting all that Chatterbox hot air to good use by doing balloon animals for the kiddies. Hey, everybody is good at something!!

Just FYI- raindrops don’t usually matter to hearty market folks but in the event the market was going to be closed because of severe weather, you’ll find it posted here at Sunny Side Up!
