Come down to Barker Village Park this Thursday, September 18, as we celebrate the last day of the Barker Farmer’s Market for this season. We’ve extended the hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and added some extra fun. You’ll find a huge array of fall produce and decorative pumpkins, gourds, stalks and more. Stock up on that goat milk soap and facial scrubs, get some maple syrup or frozen Black Angus beef, a fancy tee shirt or even a blanket for your pooch. The Amish baked goods will be right next to Goodie Barn’s cotton candy, sponge candy and treats and our regular vendors will be there. If you have some flea items or ‘junktiques’ to sell you can rent a space for $5 (bring your own tables) by calling 795-3787. Anything goes for this last night! Music in the gazebo will be played by Bea Buczkowski from 4 to 5 p.m. with vocals by Mike Petraglia from 5 to 7p.m. (donations gratefully accepted).
PWT is bringing back German night for the occasion, with bratwurst, sauerkraut, homemade German potato salad, potato pancakes and German chocolate cake, plus their regular menu.
Barker Centennial fun continues with Kid’s Night at the market. There will be a free bounce house from 4 to 7 p.m., balloon animals and tattoos from 4 to 5 p.m., sack races and kid games from 5 to 6 p.m. with prizes. Centennial logo note cards and the DVD of our historic Barker photo slide show will be available for sale. There are also a limited number of Centennial wooden nickels available. It looks like it will be a beautiful fall evening, so bring a chair and join your friends as we say so long to the 2008 market season.
